Overview
The Regional Transportation Plan, a long-range comprehensive plan, is the primary means by which federal and state funds are allocated to the Cape's transportation needs. The Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), a collaboration of local, regional, state, and federal transportation officials, votes on this federally required document, which is compiled and maintained by the staff of the Cape Cod Commission. It is updated every four years.
Cape Cod Regional Transportation Plan Subcommittee
The Cape Cod 2024 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) update is underway. Members of the Cape Cod Joint Transportation Committee agree to serve on a subcommittee to assist in development of the 2024 RTP.
The subcommittee meetings are public and will be posted on this page and the Cape Cod Commission meetings calendar. A draft plan is expected to be issued in Spring 2023 with a final plan anticipated to be finalized and endorsed by the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization by Summer 2023.
