Guide to bicycle committees and advocacy groups on Cape Cod
Bicycling on Cape Cod is a wonderful way to see the sights. Our roads and bike trails are a major asset that attracts tourists and new residents. The Cape’s bicycle infrastructure includes off-road bicycle paths like the Cape Cod Rail Trail, Canal Path, and the Shining Sea Bikeway, all of which attract thousands of riders each day. Additionally, several on-road bicycle facilities are in place, such as the new bicycle lanes along Route 6 in Truro.
Bicycle supporters and advocates abound on Cape Cod, and volunteers lead the way on local advocacy and town committees. Thanks to support from these groups and town leaders, the Cape will be seeing additional bicycle infrastructure in the near future, including the Sandwich Service Road Shared-Use Path, Bourne Rail Trail, and extensions to the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
If you enjoy bicycling on Cape Cod and would like to become involved in the expansion of bicycling in the region, then please consider getting involved by attending a local town committee or advocacy group meeting. Following is a list of local groups and committees. Happy cycling!
