Reminder: Funding is available through Community One Stop for Growth portal
Improved access to state funding resources to help advance economic development goals
Many Massachusetts cities and towns were having difficulty accessing state funding resources to help advance housing and economic development goals. Hearing their call, state leaders came together to create the One Stop for Growth Program, launched in 2021. It is a single application portal with a streamlined, collaborative review process for grant programs that support local community development projects.
The Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development established the initiative in partnership with the Department of Housing and Community Development and MassDevelopment. The program is designed to provide communities with a clear and direct path to access certain housing and community development funding programs.
In Fiscal Year 2022, 11 Cape and Islands projects were funded through the OneStop Program, amounting to a total of $1,464,000 awarded in the region. The application process for Fiscal Year 2023 is open now, with applications due on June 3, 2022.
This current round provides access to twelve programs, including the Mass Works Infrastructure Program, the Housing Choice Community Grant Program, the Massachusetts Downtown Initiative, and the Underutilized Properties Program, among others. Cape and Islands communities are encouraged to apply for funding through the Community One Stop for Growth Program. Non-profit and for-profit entities are eligible for select programs.
