Route 6 Interchanges to be evaluated for improvements
The Cape Cod Commission is in the process of evaluating the interchanges along Route 6 and identifying potential alternatives to improve safety.
The study evaluates the possibility for extending acceleration and deceleration lanes at interchanges on Route 6. The potential to expand the paved shoulder from the Cape Cod Canal to the Orleans/Eastham Rotary is also being evaluated.
Preliminary alternatives and an analysis of potential benefits and impacts will be presented at a public meeting later this year. Public feedback will be a key component of the effort as the findings of the study will be used to inform the planning on future projects on Route 6.
