FFY 2025-2029 TIP Amendment 2 - 21-day Public Comment Period closes December 9, 2024

On November 18, 2024, the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization voted to release draft TIP Amendment 2 to the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2025-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for a 21-day public comment period. 

Amendment 2 proposes the following modifications: 

  • Bourne Scenic Highway Median Installation on Route 6 (#606082) 
    Funding source adjustment to include $4,604,167 of Congestion, Mitigation, Air Quality (CMAQ) funding added in FFY 2026  
  • Cape Cod Gateway Airport Microgrid Project $1,950,000 to be programmed in FFY 2025 utilizing Federal Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) grant funds
  • Cape Cod Bridges Program Phase 1 (Sagamore Bridge) $365,420,000 to be programmed in FFY 2025-2029 utilizing Federal Bridge Investment Program (BIP) grant funds with a state match.

Comments regarding TIP Amendment 2 will be accepted through December 9, 2024 by contacting Colleen Medeiros, Transportation Program Manager, as noted below. A virtual public meeting of the Cape Cod MPO is scheduled for Monday, December 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM to hear additional public comments and consider endorsement of FFY 2025-2029 TIP Amendment 2.

Overview

The Cape Cod Commission coordinates transportation planning activities under the guidance of the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), a collaboration of local, regional, state, and federal officials. The MPO, designated under federal transportation legislation following the 1990 United States Census, meets to review, direct, and vote on aspects and products of the transportation planning process.

The Cape Cod Joint Transportation Committee (CCJTC) is the transportation planning advisory group that reviews, discusses, and votes on recommendations to the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization.
