DEADLINE EXTENDED: License Plate Grant Funds Available for COVID-19 Recovery and Resiliency Projects
Government and nonprofit entities eligible for funds to support local and regional recovery efforts
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (July 10, 2020) – The deadline for proposals from local or regional governmental or nonprofit agencies for COVID-19 recovery and resiliency projects has been extended to Tuesday, July 14th, 2020 at 12:00 noon.
Proposals are being sought by the Cape Cod Commission on behalf of the Barnstable County Commissioners and the Barnstable County Economic Development Council (BCEDC). Approximately $150,000 from the Barnstable County License Plate Grant Fund is allocated for grants up to $25,000 in FY21.
Projects proposed should address a documented impact of the pandemic and align with and support implementation of the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Demographic and economic data for Cape Cod towns, non-profit organizations, and businesses recovering from the economic impacts of COVID-19 is available through the Cape Cod COVID-19 Data Dashboard.
Proposals must demonstrate consistency with one or more of the CEDS Action Plan initiatives including local business development, blue economy sector development, comprehensive and activity center planning, housing access and affordability, climate change innovation, regional infrastructure planning, transportation and air quality improvement, infrastructure development, and infrastructure funding.
Proposals are due by Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 12:00 noon. All proposals will be evaluated by the BCEDC, who will make recommendations for funding to the Barnstable County Commissioners. Awards are anticipated to be made in August 2020.
